Gunshot injury of the urethra in non-conflicting period: two case reports in Abidjan

Résumé

Introduction: The deliberate or accidental use of firearms can cause sometimes unusual bodily injuries, the prognosis of which is unpredictable. Injuries to the lower urinary tract caused by firearms are rare and atypical. Clinical case: We report two cases of section of the urethra by firearm. These were 02 cases of firearm injury to the urethra in different settings. The associated lesions were all different, conditioning the management. In the 02 cases, treatment was carried out in 02 stages and the prognosis was favourable in 01 cases. Conclusion: The management of urethral transection is complex. In the case of section by firearm, associated lesions may have an impact on prognosis.
