Résumé

Introduction: Screening and access to care for patients with depression during pregnancy re-mains limited. During this prenatal period, depression can be confused with the symptoms of pregnancy. The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiological, clinical and evolu-tionary profile of depression during pregnancy. Methodology: This was a multicenter, prospective, descriptive study. It was carried out in the maternity ward of the CSCom-U of Konobougou in rural areas and that of Sanoubougou II in urban areas. The study took place from January to December 2020 and involved pregnant wom-en seen during the antenatal consultation carried out by the midwives. Results: The 20-29 age group was the most represented, i.e. 40.6% of cases, with an average age of 25 ± 2.5 and extremes of 17 to 44 years. Sleep problems were the most frequently found with 66.67%, followed by appetite problems with 65.22% of cases, and then energy loss or fa-tigue with 46.38% of cases. In 13% of cases, antidepressants were prescribed and all women received psychological support. The evolution was favourable in all cases. Conclusion: Depression affected all age groups with varied symptoms. Screening for depression should be systematic in all pregnant women to avoid its repercussions on the normal course of pregnancy and on the newborn to come.
