Introduction: A cataract, the leading cause of blindness in the world, is treated surgically thus restoring vision. The aim of our study was to study the functional results of senile cataract at the somine DOLO hospital in Mopti. Methodology: this is a retrospective and descriptive study from January 1er, to December 30, 2023, involving 177 eyes affected by senile cataract with a complete file and who were present at the post-operative check-up during this period. The results of which were analyzed with the epi info software version7.2. Result: a total 177 eyes were the subject of the present study on approximately 183 patients in one year, a sex ratio of 1.03 in favor of men. the average age was 60, 09 years for an age group of [60-80[years. the age group of 60-69 years was the most represented with 38, 98% of cases of senile cataract. the surgical technique was phaco A +ICP in all patients, with implant stones. more than 90, 04% of patients had a visual acuity greater than or equal to 3/10 with the correction worm. One case of late post-operative complication (fibrosis of the posterior capsule at day 30). Conclusion: senile cataract poses a real public health problem in developing countries, especially in rural areas. The majority of patients operated on or senile cataracts are satisfied with their results.
