Objective: To assess the prevalence of burnout syndrome and to look for risk factors among emergency and intensive care nurses. Methodology: Cross-sectional study carried out in the emergency and intensive care units of the Sominé Dolo hospital in Mopti. It is a survey of nurses and volunteers who worked in the two departments who responded anonymously to the questionnaire written on individual survey sheets. The Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) was used to quantify burnout. With a mean age of 20 years +/- 4.67 and a predominance of males, a sex ratio (male/female) = 1.125, the majority of participants were married 76.47% (n=13). 33.33% of caregivers were affected by burt out, of which 13.33% had high emotional exhaustion according to the MBI and 20% had a low level of professional accomplishment, no relationship between a low professional accomplishment score (AP) and the sex of the study population, on the other hand, a relationship was found between seniority in the departments and a professional accomplishment score but also between the number of on-call and the same score. Conclusion: burnout is a reality that can be studied in our services and it has a considerable impact on the quality of the service provided.
