Ebstein’s anomaly is a rare congenital heart defect. Its clinical presentation is heterogeneous, and heart failure being a major prognostic factor. In Sub-Saharan Africa, only a limited number cases of Ebstein’s anomaly have been reported. To the best of our knowledge, this represents the first documented case from Niger. We report the case of an 18-year-old primiparous woman, presented with signs of heart failure. She was referred from Zinder region (Niger), located over 800km from Niamey. Transthoracic echocardiography confirmed the diagnosis of Ebstein’s anomaly. Symptomatic treatment was initiated. Due to the unavailability of adequate local technical facilities, the patient was referred abroad to a specialized cardiac surgery center. However, the procedure could not be performed because of financial limitations, and the patient died ten months later. This study aims to report the first clinical case of Ebstein’s anomaly diagnosed in Niger, to provide a review of the literature, and to highlight the challenges faced in management of congenital heart defects in resource-limited settings.
